ABOUT

Jemma Dilag is a Filipinx-American artist and poet, combining text and imagery to narrate stories surrounding love and grief while confronting their struggles with mental health and addressing conversations around femininity and ethnic identity in media and history, often drawing inspiration from historic feminist artists.

Dilag printed their first collection in a limited print two-volume series titled To You, From Me in January 2017, a compilation of poetry and several photographic series, including Doubting // Fearing // Hurting and Remnants of You. In April 2018, Dilag followed with their second photopoetry series, (spoiled) milk and honey, then published their first official collection of poetry, All Things Loving and Hurting, a poetic memoir of tender love, bittersweet heartache, and the weight we carry along.

Currently, Dilag is the Creative Project Manager for Homes.com, and prior to that, they began their career as a Creative Consultant and Photo Editor. Driven by their passion to support and assist others succeed in their creative endeavors, especially those emerging, women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA+, they often participate in portfolio reviews along with scholarship and grant opportunities as a juror with organizations such as Art of Freelance, national and local chapters of ASMP, and AIGA.
